Medical operation always is a complicated and painful process. It combines with pain and lots of sufferings by near and dear ones. My foot operation needs to be done as it is result of constant ignorance of foot and that makes some serious and that needs to be done for surgey. After we found some serious implications my parents became serious and urged me to show to doctor to have a good advice on health of foot. As, the left thumb is increasing providing liquids from inside.
Right thumb of the left foot constantly bleeding and that makes parents worry and for this reluctantly, I agree to show my thumb to doctors and that too in and around Bhubaneswar as the health system of Puri town is not up to the Mark and with me only daddy will cme as just 30 days back mummy’s left leg undergoes full knee replacement at AIIMs Bhubaneswar and I should be writing ours experience about it in complete details after this series of article about operation of my left thumb of left foot.
Being Brahmin sevayat of Lord Jagannath I used to reach to Puri Jagannath Temple every day in the morning and by walking on the stones roads in and around Temple premises, my foot got waer and tear and for this left thumb of left foot got bruised and infected and the back side of right foot also got severely infected but by ignoring all of these I continue to go for Shree Jagannath Temple and then to office daily. Almost 10 months back I first show my thumb and foot in the nearby Puri Headquarters Hospital which is nearer to ours home at Puri town a walk able distance and their I went to the outdoor and then after seeing this they send me to doctor and doctor said that 14 pencil injections to be taken. So for the next seven days in the morning and evening I have to take penciling injection and that provides some serious side effects t my foding habits as well as my stomach upsets time and again without any reasons or despite well behaved and nice foodiing habits. Most of times taking those penicillin injection becomes very painful and for this I have to suffer for more and after 15 days what I have found is that instead of healing of at the back side of right foot it becomes aggravated and for no such reason my left thumb becomes infected whch was absolutely right before taking those series of injections.
What they have done is that instead of checking whether penicillin works with me or not the doctor prescribed it and that too powerful ones and in the end the doctors from Apollo Hosp[ital CHennais after test found that penicillin is not suitable for me at all in any point of time and this makes the entire situation difficult to understand and just see how such simple thing is to check the patient whether he is ready for penicillin doses or not should be done and this is very elementary. I surprise to find that experience doctor at Puri Hospital also did not hesitate to check for penicillin compatibility which ultimately for me a good finger that is left thumb of foot becomes sore and got bleeding even without any wrong of mine and this has been revealed when ultimately at last resort me and daddy went to Apollo Hospital Chennai Greams lane which makes one of blood test which shows that large amount of penicillin doses which ultimately lead to left foot swelling and then soreness and bleeding of left thumb of left foot.
Incidentally, I went to Puri hospital for treatment of my right foot and the doctor present there at the outpatient department (OPD) without testing anything prescribed for 15 high doses penicillin injections and that in react does not heal my right foot but instead all these makes reactions and those penicillin doses unable to cope with my body and instead provides a huge reaction on the left foot and it becomes swollen, and then the left thumb suddenly got bruised and after few days bledding and pouring of white bloods comes out and that became one of the most horrible incident to happen to me. This goes on to show how come a simple mistake by the doctor could land you in serious health problems and before reaching to doctors we should always check ourselves whether medicines are suitable for me or not and a decent Google search can also bring further clear results and even taking their medicines and in my case the injections I should have checked that whether pencillin is useful for me and whether it is compatible with my health r not as all of these checking should have been done before going for 15 penicillin injections.
Ours readers should also take the important lessons from this as the doctor’s prescription is not final as we should double check this before moving further and accepting doctor’s advice. As I blindly take doctors advice and took all 15 penicillin injections, and that instead of curing my right foot it adds another problem by injuring the left foot and thumb due to excessive penciling use. It swells entire foot and thumb becomes bigger and constant bleeding and white bloods oozing out from that and that is quite menacing which I should be writing here in the next part of article. To Bhubaneswar at Amri Hospital
After almost four months of use of medicines from Puri Hospital and then from ,local Puri doctor and there is not at all any changes to my foot condition and instead in addition to this my left feet thumn becomes bruised for no region at all and slowly bloods and other white liquids comes out from left feet. Instead of healing of the right foot my left foot becomes all of sudden bruised due to penicillin medicines and injections. At last I found that in spite of heavy doses of medicines which costs lumpsum rupees but instead of correcting my right foot it creates another wound due to medicinal reactions and that makes life more difficult as the reactionary wound at the left feet thumb. As blood flow as well as white liquid flows continuously from thumb of left feet and that makes life more difficult as parents and sibling continue to worry about it. Parents are extremely worry about it as they think this might have been sign of cancer no one knows but the fear still grips upon my parents and sibling and that they said that I have to go to Bhubaneswar for some advance treatment.
There have been many discussions within parents and sibling again and again about my new wound and then there is the decision to check further at Amri Hospital Bhubaneswar which is of course one of renewed hospital of Odisha for some time. In the morning daddy and me went to Bhubaneswar to reach to pre-decided hospital, such as Amri Hospital and we reached there at almost 7. 45 am on that day. I have been to Amri Hospital before but that time just as guest but this time I reached there as patient and this means that some more inner hospital places to be visited and am extremely excited to know that for the first time I should be visiting this hospital as patient. From the outside the view of Amri Hospital has been excellent but the important part is how treatment occurs not the scenic view of hospital as it is doctors that makes the hospital great but not its buildings and other constructions. The entry hall of Amri Hospital is gigantic and the air condition was excellent and it makes you happier but on the other hand we could see that on the right small tiffin center, on the left May I Help you counter and from there we reached and register ours names.
Then May I Help You counter told us to move to the left side of big hall and there after showing my wounds they advise me to go to plastic surgeon and take some money but instead of providing receipts they said that receipt will be provided by plastic surgery department and this goes on to show that there should be centralized mechanisms of each and every front desk so that when customer are paying money they should have the bills all at once instead of reaching to different departments which in my case able to find out this time at Amri Hospital. We move into Hospital further and then after moving into right side of Hospital we reach at the counter of plastic surgery department and there we show the told them that we paid the money at the entrance and they see and check that in computer and then they told that they will be providing us with receipt within ten minutes because the counter clerk yet to arrive and the person will reach soon and then will provide us with printed paper version. Then they told us that our doctor wil reach within half an hour at roomnumber 29 and were asked to wait in front of room number 29. After almost one hour doctor came and then daddy and me went into doctor’s chamber.
Doctor after seeing the right foot told us that a smaller operation to be done in it and then he asked me to show the right thumb as it was bandaged as slowly blood and white liquid comes out from that thumb of left foot. Daddy slowly removed that bandage and the doctor saw that bloods and white liquids come out from there. After seeing the blood flow for some time the doctor told daddy that they have to remove the left thumb completely from the body as it has become cancerous and if thumb is not to be removed from the body then ultimately the cancerous tissues will spread across body such as leg and then upper part of boy and if that happens then it will be very much difficult for me to survive in such scenario. They said that amputation of left foot thumb is absolutely necessary. From these it is implied that due to medicine overdose especially of penicillin and other antibiotics medications as for reaction this has been occurred due to this as doctors have not certified that whether my body can tolerate penicillin and other antibiotics or not which letter I found that my body cannot tolerate a simple penicillin dose and instead the doctors of my native place has been giving same medicines and that creates such state to my left foot.
After almost one hour daddy approached to reception and they told us that the doctor will come at 11 am so we see the clock and realize that it is almost one hour to go. We have come from early morning from Puri by train and this means that the exhaustion is there and we are feeling it. In the mean time, 15 minutes elapsed and the reception told that now doctor arrived and guided us to the nearby room. We entered into his chamber and after seeing the right le back part the doctor told us that it needs a minor operation and it will be ockay and that operation needs to be done today.
Then, doctor slowly removed the bandages from the left tow and then slowly bandages are removed and then the doctor told us that this thumb has become cancerous and if it is to be removed as soon as possible other wise this cancerous tendencies can move to entire foot and then to leg and then to other parts of body and the doctor advised us to remove the left foot thumb as early as possible and without any tests and other important examinations and all of a sudden the doctor told us that this part of body to be removed completely and we are awestruck and speechless after this sudden and all of a surprise verdict of doctor without any specific blood experiments.
Then, doctor advised us to move to the front side of room where the lower side of right foot needs to be cleaned and there after almost 30 minutes of waiting out there, our turns came and without giving me any anesthesia the doctor begin to create the minor surgery and while doing that it provides enormous pain to me and the pain are on the rise even during the minor operation process and then what they have done is that they have removed some parts of infected area and then bandages were done and then doctor told us that after 10 minutes we will have a meeting on his room out there we should be talking about removal of left thumb and perhaps about cost of operations and estimated operation dates and so on. 10 minutes elapsed and there was another doctor with him who ultimately know that we do have insurance and then doctors becomes happier.
This was a bit awkward as we have seen their smiles after hearing about ours health insurance and they said that the operation could take two to three lakhs after hearing about health insurance. At first they are telling about it would cost 70000 rupees but the cost increases and their smile is on the rise after hearing about health insurance and then the price of operation increases after hearing ours health insurance. We have told them that after a week we will be intimated about it after further discussion with ours family. They have easily said that as soon as thumb is removed the cancerous portion will be healed completely. We could see that how health insurance scam or fraud is going on as without any further blood test and other forms of test they declared that it is cancer all the way. It is surprising and readers should learn that whatever doctor told you about yours disease is not final at all as you should be evaluating yours disease and always take the second opinion and then the third opinion and so one before taking any major decision abut cutting of limbs or removal any part of body.
