On this auspicious occasion of Deva Snan Poornima which occured to day June 24 I wish all of my subscribers and guests hale and heart state for their life. Lord Jagannath is peoples’ deity and all of his rules of faith are similar to humans as due to extreme summer weather he took baths of buckets of waters in order to save himself from extreme summer heat.

I got up at 15 minutes prior to five o’clock and then I slept on the bed for more fifteen minutes in order to clock reach at 5 am and then I woke up. Due to Covid Pandemic 144 was implemented in and around temple and towards Municipal markets. This means, the regular days from Monday to Friday till 1 pm and in the weekends there is complete shutdown.

Today is Thurs day and regularly shops are allowed to open till 1 pm but due to Devsnan Poornima, the grand road beginning from Jagannath Temple upto Municipal markets are under 144 and the rest of town is open till 1 p.m. I brushed my teeth and then do shave, and then took bath and then brought out water for worshipping of my home’s Lord. Then I wore the makuta (divine clothes) and then started my journey to reach towards Lord Jagannath Temple.

I belonged to Bhandar and Pallia Mekap seva and inner Brahmin sevayat of Lord Jagannath. So, Shree Jagannath Temple administration have given us identity cards and I always took identity cards as many a times the temple police have some new recruits and some times they failed to recognize us but to go towards a safer route I always prefer there would be no miscommunications among us inside premises of Jagannath Temple. I walked from ours home at main Hospital Square and then reached Municipal market square.

From my home till the begin of Municipal square shops are open and shopkeepers as well as customers are obeying Covid guidelines and they are observing it and from Municipal market on the grand roads towards Shree Jagannath Temple entire route was with 144 guidelines and no civilians are not allowed except sevayats (servitors) of Lord Jagannath Temple. At the side entrance of Lord Jagannath Temple, block dressed police and Odisha police with temple police also standing there and the black dressed police asked me to stop there and then he asked his superiors whether to allow me or not.

His superior nodded his head and then I entered into Lord Jagannath Temple and then at the Lion’s gate at the auto hand sanitiser I washed my both of hands and then enter into temple through the great twenty two steps. Then instead of entering into main temple I went to the snan mandap (Bathing place) which is through Anand Bazar (Happy bazar) and then I saw most of servitors are obeying the Covid-19 guidelines and all of them are with distance between one another as well as all of them are with masks on their faces.

I went to the bathing mandap (sanctum sanctorium) and from there I namaskar to , Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, Devi Shuvadra andLord Sudarshan. During that time Abakash Puja was completed and entire areas was washed with holy waters. So I stopped just there by Pratihari sevayat as while looking at Lord Jagannath I forgot that already the holy water was spreads in the area and then I returned to various temples inside Lord Jagannath Temple and then I back to my home through grand road.

What makes me is that I always go to temple by walk and then it supplements my morning walk and also in the temple I rest my luck with Lord Jagannath, as He knows everything and so I should not be saying to him what to be done, i rest my life with Him so that he will do what he wants to do it to me. Jai Jagannath.
