Sun Direct DTH is one of the most cost effective and clarity driven direct to home network in India. Its subscription prices are far lower than its competitors such as that of Dish, Tata Sky and others. It also provides many more channels at very lesser cost. It provides completely high definition at far lesser cost those similar DTH providers that are in competition in India currently.
Its signal catching is good and normally on a first floor it can easily pull down signal without any difficulties where as Dish TV which is very difficult to catch the signal and every time the signal is lost you will have to time and again call to maintainance staffs and from time to time you will be spending sum of money as on every visit the mechanic takes some amount of money.
The only matter of question was that its interface was somewhat outdated. When we compare it with that of other direct to home providers we do find that its interface was quite primitive and for this it is essential to understand that it needs some sort of updated user interface.
Seven days back my nephew was watching television then all of a sudden the television program is over top by software update and it continues for well over two and half an hour and within that times set top box continue to start and restart from time to time. It goes on to starting and restarting of set top box from time and again for almost two hours and in the mean time my small nephew was worried that something has happened to the television and he was concerned that he might not be able to see his favorite cartoon shows.
After almost two hours the software update installed correctly on set top box and now the channels are coming once again with some of more additional menu features and its visibility enhancements. Now, the display menu is completely different as it comes in vertical row as in earlier it comes in horizontal column style. Now the display fonts are lowered so that from one segment you can go to various sub menu segment such as regional, news, movies and so on. Now by using one menu you can move towards two different menu segment one is the sub class that is there you can change from different sub segments such as hindi or news and then go towards sub menu of news or hindi or any other sub segment.
This time the background of menu clearer from the earlier times and it also stays at the one side especially at the left hand side of screen and this means that it will not cut so many spaces while you browse for display options and watching television at the same time. Earlier the viewing space was at the lower and it covers almost lower column space and now it is more suitable for multitasking.
Now, it provides different display options three types. One is that of PAL color display and the second one is that of NTSC display and the third one is of AUTO and if you choose AUTO option then it will go for default settings and if you want to move towards NTSC or PAL then you can do this through Display options.
