Budtameez (1966) Movie Review

Budtameez (1966) movie consists of sweet and sour relationships which ultimately have a happy end. Main protagonists of this movie are Sadhna and Shami Kapoor. The title song is nice and soothing and apart from this, all the other songs are just okay to the ear. Sadhana is from a rich family and she saw in her childhood how his father after drinking liquor tend to behave badly with her mother and this process continues for long and ultimately her mother suicide.

This imprints on the memory of Sadhna that she used to hate male persons and against the institution of marriage. She made a club of such ladies who hated marriages and she was very bad-mannered and especially to male persons. Her parents are now dead and she is survived by her grandfather who wishes always that she should marry as she is now the only person left in his family.

Shami Kapoor’s own parents are dead and his stepmother is there and always accused him of not doing work and only staying in his village despite graduated from Allahabad University. Due to his mistake, her step sister’s leg is not working. Shammi Kapoor feels always bad about it and considers it that it is only due to him her step sister’s both leg are now working. Shammi Kapoor leaves for Mumbai to have a better career after being seriously flanked by his stepmother.

If you examine the plot in its totality you could find that the total storyline is on expected lines. As the name suggests of this movie we could find that, the storyline of this movie is simple and predictive. In the entire movie, there is not so much bad-mannered as the film suggests but it is simply a normal storyline and except one song which is a title song all the other songs are not to so good for me at least as we know that it all depends upon the state of mindness of person other than that.

The villain of this movie is visible and by stealing the mails he managed to perform a big controversy between two protagonists but finally, it solved amicably. At the end everything solves and both protagonists able to remove their miscalculations and then there is one short of not so good humour but nevertheless it is manageable and many points of time, but the role of Sadhana overpowers the role of Shammi Kapoor and at the end of this movie we do see plenty of actions but all the other at last solved amicably when their comes the decision making process at last everything solved amicably.

We do see in the beginning of this movie when Sadhna is in swimming dress and those are the rarity during the mid of 1960s movies and this provides that director Manmohan Desai was futuristic and those class of movies where there is some exposure will come upon. This movie is one of the good movies to watch for and it is important to note that at some point of time, the story moving like slow and one of another story adds to it and this way we can see and find that, if the humour side of this movie was prolonged then it would have been more intuitive learn about to see that movie.

If the comedy portion of this movie could be prolonged then these movies would be one of the best movies of Shammi Kapoor. In this movie, the special type of Shammi Kapoor dance is not there as only acting in the songs and that might have been due to that, Shammi Kapoor love song of his movies and it has been said that the signs movie in accordance with the quality of the songs that are included in the movie and this movie songs are not that similar symphonic song which is famous with movies of Shammi Kapoor.

Movie is full watch worthy, Sadhana is beautiful and her acting is superb and Shammi Kapoor was not at its usual jolly best, not at the full percentages comedy roles but still, it is watchable and the storyline of this movie moves from one end to that other and it is a good family movie to see. If you are Sadhna fan then this movie is just for you as many shades of acting of roles you can see through this, and find out what a versatile actor Sadhna had been as in this movie, we do see how all-round actor she had been.

I have not seen all of the movies of Sadhna but whatever movies and that too with Shammi Kapoor it seems both are natural actor to each other. Rajkumar and this movie both seem to be the natural actor and the movie can be seen with delightfulness but after the second half and much of its part becomes, slow but the first half of this movie is very good and very interesting. In fact, I saw the entire first half and in the second half I saw the climax scene as some part of the movie seems to be moving towards the same storyline.

Since it can be a personal reflection of this movie and others can find the entire storytelling of this movie can be interesting and it is important to one should go through the entire movie to know more about it. As the blog writer and fond of classic Hindi movies, I do prefer to see this movie from time to time so that to understand the pattern of decision-making process, and how our movie industry grows and who are the pillars of it and we do see in the age of superstars there is also the second class actors who slowly moves to the prominence and make their presence felt from time to time and that makes entire decision-making process one of the most reiterated and manageable way to understand the development of Hindi cinema.

Later on the story telling of this movie, which is portrayed by great director Manmohan Desai, and later on he completed more and more successful movies with due course of time on later on. We have been watching Manmohan Desai’s movie on the 1970s, we do see its initial parts in this 1960s, and this movie goes on to build the strong power of development of ideas of how Manmohan Desai is going to build future movies.
