8 Hidden Samsung Galaxy features you need to know about

Samsung Galaxy phone powered by Android from Google comes up with One User interface which provides one of better and smoother android experience and even better than Google at times. The more you use Samsung Galaxy phones the more you will find that there are so many hidden settings tips and tricks which you have missed so far. Samsung does provide three android operating system updates as well as security updates for some years. This means that you will feel always that Samsung is there a you always and improving yours android experience day by day.

Lock your homescreen layout:

One user interface of Samsung does provide two types of display known as Home screen layout known as Homes and Apps screens and Home screens. You can reach there by going to settings  and then Home screens and then reach to Lock home screen layout and enable ito prevent items of the home screen from being  removed or repositioned. 

Adaptive Power Saving Mode: 

Samsung has another automatic power saving mode which is known as adaptive power saving mode which runs in two ways. Through normal power saving settings and through based on you usage patterns.

  1. Open Settings
  2. Tap Battery
  3. Tap Adaptive Preferences
  4. Toggle on Adaptive Battery

You can enable adaptive power saving based on yours phone usage patterns.

  1. Open Settings
  2. Search for and select Power mode
  3. Tap Optimised
  4. Tap the switch at the bottom of the screen to turn on Adaptive power saving

Three Power Saving Modes:

There are three power saving modes in Samsung Phone powered by Galaxy. 

  1. Adaptive power saving mode based on usage patterns and can be enabled through above mentioned processes.
  2. Medium Power saving mode: Power saving done through extension of battery life by limiting some processes such as limiting CPU speeds to 70 percentages and decreasing current brightness by 10 percentages.
  3. Ultra Power  saving mode: It is for maximum power saving as it allows only selected apps, limits all background activity, turn off edge panels, and change to a dark screen.

Open Notification Panel through FInger sensor gestrues:

When we open the notification panel we have to slide our finger from top to middle of the screen and it stops all the work currently doing inside the phone. For an easier process you can open and close app features with the fingerprint sensor. Swipe Up or down on the fingerprint sensor to open and close the notification panel. For your added security this function is closed when you are using a sensor for detecting fingerprint gestures.

  1.  Open Settings
  2. Tap Advanced features
  3. Tap Motions and gestures
  4. Select Finger sensor gestures
  5. The toggle by Open notification panel to activate this feature

Shoot in Raw:

To capture raw images with Samsung phones you need high end Samsung phones. From Galaxy store download the expert raw app. To shoot in raw photos kindly do the following.

  1. Open the Camera app
  2. Tap the Settings gear in the upper-left corner
  3. Go to Format and advanced options
  4. Turn on the RAW copies toggle

or alternatively you can use raw app following the way to shoot in raw mode. Kindly, do the following.

  1. Open the camera app
  2. Go to More
  3. Click on the Expert RAW option

Flip to silence:

Many times while we are driving or at a meeting suddenly we got the call from phone and for it we have to touch the phone and stop the call and this seems to be disturbing yours concentration and there is one beautiful Samsung Phone app which is default phone app and by flipping the phone you can silence the phone call without cutting the phone call from your mobile.  By doing the following gesture you can mute phone calls easily. Kindly, do the following. 

  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen
  2. Quick Settings tiles revealed
  3. Tap the gear icon to open the Settings
  4. Scroll down and select “Advanced Features.
  5. Now go to “Motions and Gestures
  6. Toggle on the switch for “Mute With Gestures.”

Hide private albums in your Samsung Galaxy photo gallery:

You can hide specific photos in the photo gallery app on Samsung Galaxy phones. Sometimes you will need to hide yours personal images from other people. Gallery app is the default image app on Samsung galaxy phones. It has an inbuilt image hide function. Kindly do the following to hide private albums in your Samsung Galaxy photo gallery app.

  1. Open the Gallery app
  2. Select Albums
  3. Tap View all
  4. Select Menu
  5. Tap Hide albums
  6. Toggle on/off the albums you would like to hide or unhide

Kindly read this to hide individual photos in the Photo gallery app in Samsung Galaxy phones.

  1. Open your gallery
  2. Select some photos you want to hide
  3. Tap More in the bottom right corner
  4. Choose Move to secure folder
  5. Set a pattern to unlock your secure folder

Alternatively, you can lock albums in gallery app directly by selecting albums directly and specified albums can be  opened through your biometric authentication which is through your fingerprint scanning. Kindly, do the following.

  1. Hold onto the album
  2. Click More
  3. Choose Lock album

Take selfies using Palm gestures:

Many times we do find difficulties taking selfies and by showing the palm gesture if you can take selfies easily then it will be easier for taking a screenshot. Kindly, do the following to show your palm to the camera to take a selfie.

  1. Open the Camera app
  2. Tap the settings cog
  3. Click on Shooting Methods
  4. Tap the toggle next to Show Palm
