How to scan Color images from a black and white monochrome Printer

Even if you have black and white or monochrome printer still you can scan color photographs with it easily and without any difficulties. First we need to know about what is scanning. Scanning is making offline images to digital version and this can be done with mobiles but with printer this process is quite easier to do and perform. Suppose you have HP Laserjet M1136 MFP which is a monochrome pinter or in layman’s word monochrome xerox machine. Monochrome means the printer only uses single black ink and generally a drum of ink. It is laser ink and it is geneally a monochrome color.

What is monochrome color for Printers

Monochrome color generally have one single ink and that is mostly the black ink. So, this comes in very lesser price and that is why smaller shops generally prefer it as it provides lesser costs for their printers in term of page of print. By using these printers we can also scan color images or photographs and find the color photographs scanned and this can be done easily and this article is generally for all printers and I would show you how to do with HP LaserJet M1136 MFP printer and do remember that the procedure to do with it does become similar to all printers so you should notbe worried abut it how to do even if you have different printers at home at office.

The procedures involved with scanning of color images inside a monochrome printer are as below:

First go to HP account as the printer which I mention here i that of LaserJet M1136 MFP and it is from HP so I have to register it with HP website and if you have done it earlier then just ignore this step. If you have canon or xerox printers then you can go for their website and register your printer and then download drivers from thier home website and then donwload to the personal computer to which you wan to use it with yours printers as you do need one computer or laptop that should be attached with yours printer.

The above mentioned printer does not have wifi connectivity and for this you need one cord that should have USB drive on one side and on the other side it can be put into printer and generally the port of the printer side is of square size and the port that should be into ocmputer should be that of USB drive type port. Now install the drivers and then conputer will automatically recognise yours printer and now you are ready.

How to connect Wirelessly from computer to printer:

Many printers come with wireless facilities and you do not need any cord to connect from printer to computer and for this it is essential that first switch on the printer and then enable WIFI of printer and then on computer open the WiFi search and connect to the printer’sd wifi connectivity and do remember that this wifi does not have internet connectivity and it works without internet and you do not need any connectivity of internet connections to connect yur computer into printer as it automatcally works with wifi connectivity and for this you need to download printer software as mentioned in above segment to activate the driver and in this way your computer can only recognise yorus printer.

Procedure to scan a color image inside black and white or monochrome printer:

Here in this case study we take the example of LaserJet M1136 MFP. Open its lid and put the photo front just t the glass which means the just towards down wards and close the lid and now before doing anything I suooose you switched on everything such as computer and printers. Now the second step is to open computer and open the printer software and in the case with this mentioned printer you can open scan to and then it will open a window. First do remember to put the picture inside the closed lid of printer so that it can be scanned easily.

1. It will open HP LaserJet Scan
2. It will ask about where should the data go ?
3. Click the default option ‘Save it to a file’
4. Then click on ‘scan’ button.
5. Then it will show a pop up windows that with ask you to ‘Save as’
6. Then click ‘save’
7. Give a file name in the rectangular box of File name’

8.Then save

9. It will open another windows named as ‘HP LaserJet M1130 MFP TWAIN’
10. You have different options to customise the scan such as SHARPEN, COLOR ADJUSTMENT, B/W THRESHHOLD. RESOLUTION AND LIGHTEN/DARKEN.
11. Even after scanning you can perform invert colors, mirroring of imags too.
12. In default scan comes up with million of colors with 150 dpi

Then click accept to save the scan in predetermined places.
