Chandaka Wild Life Sanctuary is 193 square kilometers of forest expansion, with the presence of 21 natural water bodies in and around these areas. It was agreed to form from nine teams to have the complete census in this entire far-stretched wildlife sanctuary.
From past experiences experts, it had been estimated that most migratory birds reached the place where there had been vast stretches of sweet water bodies and lonely places such as a wildlife sanctuary.
Most of these places have different stretches of low land covered with large stretches of water and mostly for this census place such as water bodies and small streams were selected. Out of 10,246 birds watched 9563 birds were spotted in the wetland areas of this wildlife sanctuary which tells more about how most of these birds prefer to reach towards such low lying wetland areas and this nature of most of these birds needs to be further looked into in greater detail in order to understand their brain processes about this.
Out of these number 37 species are resident birds which also stay nearer to wetlands and the remaining, 684 birds, depend mostly on wetlands and ground conditions. Some rare species of birds were spotted in this census such as common teal, gradual, spot-billed a duck, garganey, tufted pochard, red-crested, and northern pintail.
Also, there comes the beautiful green sank. Grey-headed Lapwing, black-tailed godwit and so on. Most of these rare birds seen in water bodies of the sanctuary and what was surprising that one water body inside of this wildlife sanctuary named Balinkapatta was discovered for the first time as the bird watchers follow the movement of birds and reached for this water body.
This makes us understand even locals still-to-date had not found that place but birds from all around world reached here had discovered this place and that made entire proceses and related discoveries some wonders to please with as the processes of knowing entire place could not solely depend upon the knowledge of locals but it comes from such migratory birds who already discovered such places in advance.
During Indian summer of last year month of May, Chandaka wildlife authorities for the first time discovered some rare nest in and around some places of this wildlife sanctuary and then observation and understanding about these nests and which birds could have done this in the past year and let it come back again this year provides some rare thoughts and pieces of information of such birds which provides awesome attention for bird lovers as well as wildlife specialists.
The presence of nest inside Chandaka wildlife sanctuary confirms that birds reached to such and such long-distance places from their hinterland in order to breed and this confirms and the nature of nest also justify that which kind of birds should have been reached here and this creates enough information to create such teams to observe movement of these bird in this fall-winter.
At least 64 nests of birds have been found and this justifies the presence of a large number of birds reaching out to this place at this time of year. Primary intention for this research to understand the movement of such birds so that their security should have been prime importance in protecting the place. More the breeding place so that ultimate security and a secure place for themselves to provide them with utmost identities.
Well defined and considered decision was taken that these securities of birds should be in the hands of local villagers who dwell inside these forest areas so that they continue to provide well-defined protection. Local villagers would be carrying out the conservation of these important places where such birds should be reaching to this wildlife sanctuary for their breeding place and this should provide the most brilliant aspect of continuous protection so that ultimately the sole benefit should be reaching to this wildlife. This move should provide the ultimate safe and secure place for such wild life birds so that they should reach this place without any signs of fear of being caught or disturbed.
Odisha has many such places where migratory birds from worldwide reached here during winter time and continue to reach here and the left back to their original habitat after breeding.
The Chilka provides the enormous place for migratory birds to reach out there and one more migratory place such as Chandak Wild Life Sanctuary does provide enormous opportunities for bird watchers and nature lovers to watch of the movement of birds in its natural capacity.
These birds have been reaching to this place since time immemorial and we humans knew this and it is our duty to make that place same as that of centuries ago so that they continue to reach here and continue to reach here from time to time.
It has been the most surprising aspect that they reach here through exact routes crossing innumerable kilometers in space and reach the same place at the same time. What kind of mathematics they should be following and what kind of which they should be using to stay as punctual and remain on time always. It is the flyover space and wetlands that make their life special.
It should be our duty not to disturb them at any point of time so that they continue to provide more and more life science and make the entire earth more living in a friendly way and that should be good for humans to stay healthier with congenital environments.
