India votes for change

India got its independence in the 1947, but. It got its constitution in 1950. It provided ways for establishing an institution of universal adult franchise for world’s largest democracy. China holds the highest population and India is second in population. China does not prefer democracy, but India does. That is why. India has become world’s largest democracy. In the last general election, just concluded recently. Runs for more than a month amidst different segments of voting sections. Democracy is a way of life, and it grows with time and for this, in countries which have democracy in their wings, has been evolving with time and now they have been proud to be institutionalized democracy. India’s democracy has just reached above 60 years of age. There have been very few instances when opposition parties have been able to gain the upper hand and the election of 2014 has been a new trend where.

The growth of BJP:

No one ever has imagined the growth of the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) from a single digit political outfit to now over 280 seats. It alone has most thorough as its characteristic. It always takes along its allies. NDA (National Democratic Alliance) has more than 335 seats. It is a thumping victory after 1984, a political party able score major. People of India have voted for hope and has voted to remove inflation, price rise, corruption and red tape. The way, Indian votes, world sees how maturity the people have voted for their own development and this is then proved India is slowly moving towards a participatory democracy. Here, people want developments, the rise of employment, opportunities and they do not want to giveaways and freebies.

Most of UPA (United Progressive Alliance) have been giving freebies and giveaways to the poor section in the hope of returning back to power. Nonetheless, they have ignored basic utilities of people who want price fall, real opportunities and a land where there is not any corruption. Corruption leads to price risk and the previous government it has been monumental rise of scams as there is no parliamentary session gone where there is no discussion about newer scams and corruption issues. In a democracy, citizens choose whom to pronounce. Citizens have voting rights and they voted once in five years in India. This process of enjoying the rights of citizens is called selection.

Growth of democracy in India:

During the last 62 years, we have made progress from the state of reduced rights to full citizen rights. However, still many people who born before independence have been back in the mantra of British rules. Slowly, citizens are now trying ti understands the approach and the right issues concerning processes of democracies. During Nehruvian era, socialism gained its prominence and citizen experience the process of mixed economy. During those times, state is considered to be ruling in all developing institutions and there are no such private enterprises. It believes that the state itself can reduce poverty to an astronomical extent and there is no need for private-public partnerships. Slowly, the mantra of agricultural progress begins with the advent of green revolution.

There was a time, when US blackmailed us in sending wheat; instead they prefer to throw these into the Pacific Ocean. All these become an insult to Indian domestic and political classes and they have opted for green revolution which has been reducing the deficit in agricultural products all around. It continues even today and has been bestowing rich dividends in making India a self-proficient and food rich country. During 1960s also, India’s democracy grows with time, as it has seen how people have voted in favor of one prime minister who has proudly uttered to remove poverty within some specified time. During those times, democracy deals with poverty and people voted for such radical outfits that have given them passage f hope for advancement and remove poverty. All these are great learning graph for proper development of democracy in India.

The general election of 2014 is different from the rest:

Every general election goes on show the mindset of ordinary citizens who have tried their best5 to show partisan outfits of what they want and of what they wish their leaders to perform. Democracy in India is a little be different from the rest of democracies all around the world. In India, there is huge part of population lives in villages and most of them are illiterate and does not even know the world beyond their own locality. Most of these people voted for problems of their locality and does not purport to understand civic problem. Most of these people do understand Delhi-based news media’s as they can understand their language and simply not interested in knowing that it. Most of these villages are denied electricity and this to see and understand idiot boxes are not in their cup of tea. Unlike (United States), where most of these people voted for marital issues.

The general election of 2014 is slightly unique from the rest of elections. In this election, people have seen the emergence of Prime Minister Modi, as a sub form of presidential form of election like US does. In most of these areas where the BJP has not seen any sign of success, able to win seats there surprisingly due to fact that people have seen hope with PM Modi and have voted him into power. In the time where most of the states across the globe have been reeling under a deep economic crisis and unemployment, they have preferred to vote for nationalistic parties. They believe that this will increase the sense of participation all around them and also nationalistic parties will help their country to grow beyond their imaginations. Most times, illiterate villagers have been voting ignoring national issues, tax regimes, employment parameters, but they have voted for their own elevation from the poorest class to less poorer class.

Even so called poll pundits have never ever imagined such results:

In this general election, BJP has seen its growth in many areas where even many people in their wildest form of imagination have not able to believe that beyond their own horizon. It is caused by PM Modi’s eloquent speech and great determination, all have seen promising growth of the BJP but no one ever has imagined at any point f time that the BJP alone will get a simple majority by crossing 272 seats healthily. No one ever thought, even many political pundits have not thought about such emergence of BJP. All have predicted hung assembly and no one ever thin about a political party begins in 1980 and gets two seats in 1984 general election is able to cross magic 272 mark, is unbelievable and the way PM Modi have evolved and controlled this election it is all about a significant read and management discourse.

Expenditure in India’s election is on the higher side and most of the time, many electoral pundits have raised questions of efficacies of observing such huge expenditure burden on the people of India. India is a developing country as a huge chunk of its market is going to the underworld and the tax not returning to India at any point of time. Employment comes from manufacturing sectors. Last government for most of the time, reels under deep policy paralysis and it continues to hold restrictive policies that are not encouraging for the manufacturing sector.

It is development and hope that bring BJP into power:

Many would patiently wait for announcements of budgets and also other appropriate fiscal measures which would turn out to be the catalyst for growth of economies. Those leaders who have succeeded in getting whims and wishes of people and industrialists would succeed in executing the government. Interests of rich and poor are completely separate entities and walks in two different zones and it is politicians who control both spheres and win their confidence in creating a distinct monetary conditions goes on to run the country in the long run. In the present political condition, no political party goes with distinct idealism in the present circumstances.

Most of these partisan outfits that have propagated distinctive ideology have considerably decreased their voting bases. People are not going along on the basis of ideology or any other issues. They want clear cut development agendas and people want to see running on these developments and want to feel development at work. In various parts of India, especially in rural sectors, people wish to receive some form of gifts from leaders. That is why; richer people are now entering into politics. Now, most of the times, politics means reaching to roads and raising concerns of people.

For some time, it turns into brutal and this creates entering of criminality in politics. Slowly, mass scale criminalization of politics. There is difficult for ordinary citizens to contest in the election due to two accounts. The first one is of money and the second is of an organized scale of people to run a political outfit. Many would say democracy of India has become a power play of money. It is not true. The concept of democracy amounts to very costly worldwide. It involves participation of masses in bright cut precise manner. There is much negativity associated with the concept of democracy, but there are numerous splendid dividends of positivity associated with functionalists of democracies.

New voters are agents of catalyst for change:

Widespread election of 2014 saw, a large number of new registered voters, ladies and young ones who go to have to exercise their franchise in determining the change and go with the concept of hope propagated by PM Modi. More than 65 percentages of voters have thus voted in this election. This is the highest percentages of voters of all time during any electioneering processes. In 1984, there have been more than 60 percentages voting out of all Indian populations but in these elections people have voted overwhelmingly and voted more than 1984 voting percentages. Voting percentages in this election are 66 percentages, which are more than many Western democracies all around the world.

This election is a super success for democracy of India. Development of democracy has succeeded in propagating rich dividends among mass scale of populations. This election is discrete from the rest of elections. For the first time, more than 15 crore voters have exercised their franchise overwhelmingly and this is the most fascinating aspect of this election. Fighting for election is mostly depending upon the nature of campaigning, a strong organizational base, leadership quality, his extempore in describing his policy and future actions and image of the leader of all depends upon the elementary workings of elections.

People used to compare between different set of leaders who want to know all these qualities and the leader who seem to be best among the rest won along with his support from an organization, leaderships and party. Recent general election gives testimony to this concept and we have seen how the BJP from the least expected position in the last year has been in a position to grab the lime light and ultimately won this election. The general election of 2014 has some exceptional characteristics and all these are noteworthy to consider it.

Indian votes for change:

After 25 years of a single party able to gain an absolute majority. During the past 25 years alliance politics has weakened significantly the nature of the council of ministers. IN these times, Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) also was weakened. It is observed that in UPA 2 there is less power with it and that bring down all of ten years old UPA government. People have been weird of so called feeble government for the past ten years. They have opposed that sort of politics and give adequate opportunity to then principal opposition party BJP in power by supplying them with an outright majority.

Before the Second World War, people of France have always voted for alliance government, which brings downfall to the development of country. After the end of war people have given a party absolute majority and since, then France has been towards the path of progress. India has shown this and for the first time. An opposition party is getting an absolute majority and this speaks volume of expectations of people in imminent from PM Modi. In this election, parties which speak for cast, race and religion have been reduced to a cipher and they are not able to win a single seat in parliament.

It is a jolt from the book to them and now they do not have representation in parliament which speaks volume that even people who are in reserved categories do not want these types of politics at all. Loss of politicians such as Mayawati, Nitish Kumar, Karunanidhi, Mulayam Yadav has shown people have overwhelmingly rejected proponents of caste politicians and have bestowed PM Modi a marvelous chance to rule and construct positive hopes and aspirations of people. In this election, BJP emerges as the only federal party all over India.

They have unbelievably won seats where people have not been thinking about it in their wildest imagination. Even if in some states they have not been able to perform exceptional but they have been able to improve their vote share to satisfaction level. In states like West Bengal and Odisha, they have increased their vote share, though it was not in a position to show in their seats. This is defined as the little bit of trying in the future they could win more seats from these states. Congress does not care about for the new middle class emerging in India from education and earning potential. They have been feeling let off from preceding regimes and this time all these aspects have shown in the results and middle classes overwhelmingly rejected Congress and back BJP lead by PM Modi.

Vote share of Congress in urban areas decreased from 39% to 21% and vote share among middle classes reduces from 25% to 19%. It reflects upon the consequences of Congress as it has been shortened to a mere 44 seats, 11 seats short of awarding the post of leader of the opposition. On the other hand vote share of BJP in urban areas increase from 16 to 29%, among middle classes it increases from 28 to 46%, Muslim vote increases from 10 to 17%, tribal votes from 18 to 34% and other backward classes (OBC) votes from 19 to 30%. It is an unbelievable jump of popularity which BJP rode with capable leadership of PM Modi.

Conclusion:

Most of electoral parties excluding BJP do not have internal party democracy. They are led by either run by party’s supreme or run by families. There is the only option for people to see beyond these lines towards these political parties. Congress lost because people feel its leading family is running government remotely and for this there has been proved to be rise of corruption, inflations and lack of employment all around India. Most of chief minister of Congress or its allied ruled government runs remotely controlled from its main family and this poses havoc in terms of administration and other critical aspects of organizational parameters.

US, UK and France have their democracies for many years but in between these countries are also facing a complete renovation of ideas of democracies. For this it is essential to realize people want change and they have constructed their hope with PM Modi this time. Even in UK, their right wing parties have increased their vote share strikingly apart from the two principal parties. This goes on to show people want progress from within spheres of their own country. They want good leaders from grass roots and various grass root leaders is now becoming popular and have won in their respective states. India got its independence in 1947. It had its constitution in 1950 and the first election using universal adult franchise in 1952.
